INSPIRATION

"I am not African because I was born in Africa but because Africa was born in me".~Kwame Nkrumah

I can't count how many times I have read this quote in my lifetime, but it always hits me like the first time I ever saw it. This Passport cover is very personal, as my dying desire is to connect the world together and make it a better place but more importantly for me, Connecting Africa and the Diaspora together as global Citizens of Africa — this has been my purpose long before fashion.

PHILOSOPHY

𝙾.𝚁.𝙸.𝙹.𝙸.𝙽 𝙲.𝚄.𝙻.𝚃.𝚄.𝚁.𝙴  (𝙰𝚌𝚛𝚘𝚗𝚢𝚖)
O𝚞𝚛 R𝚘𝚘𝚝 I𝚜 J𝚞𝚜𝚝 I𝚗𝚜𝚎𝚙𝚊𝚛𝚊𝚋𝚕𝚎, N𝚘𝚗𝚎𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚕𝚎𝚜𝚜 𝙲𝚞𝚕𝚝𝚒𝚟𝚊𝚝𝚒𝚗𝚐 U𝚗𝚒𝚝𝚢, L𝚘𝚟𝚎 T𝚑𝚛𝚘𝚞𝚐𝚑 U𝚗𝚍𝚎𝚛𝚜𝚝𝚊𝚗𝚍𝚒𝚗𝚐 R𝚎𝚌𝚘𝚗𝚗𝚎𝚌𝚝𝚒𝚗𝚐 E𝚖𝚙𝚘𝚠𝚎𝚛𝚜.

See, I don’t believe in an African dream without the Diaspora being a part of the AFRICA Dream. And not to be political but it can also open up the visible and invisible borders, creating more opportunities for advancements mirroring the visions that Kwame Nkrumah, Marcus Garvey, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Malcolm X, Nelson Mandela, Toni Morrison, Harriet Tubman, Madam C.J Walker, Sojourner Truth, Rosa Parks, Maya Angelou and what many of our Black Star ancestors would hope to see in our day and age, and what I hope has them celebrating in the Skies as they see the legacy they fought for us to have.

I pray the United states of Africa passport cover paves way for a needed conversation beyond Orijin Culture’s fashion brand with an amplifying and unifying message from our ancestors to all of us as African descendants worldwide no matter our destination.

In my dream, the “Africa Dream” is Africa and the Diaspora together as one AFRICA.
